Benchmark indices tanked for the fourth continuous trading session as the trade war situation still remains unsolved between US and China, which may affect the world economy. Investors remained apart form the risky asset like equities. Nifty settled the weekly expiry at 11334.80.

Media shares were the major gainers of the day while Metals shares were among the major losers for the day.

Global Markets

Novartis is buying dry-eye drug Xiidra from Takeda Pharmaceutical Co for up to $5.3 billion as the Swiss drugmaker refreshes its ophthalmic medicines portfolio with a potential blockbuster. European shares dropped as investors shunned risky assets while waiting to see whether United States and China manage to avoid a trade war which would damage the global economy. European STOXX 600 index had dropped 0.7%.

Tata Group firm Titan Company posted a 14.41% increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 348.30 crore for the the fourth quarter of 2018-19.

Global Markets

Japan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Shipbuilding, Transportation Equipment and Marine Transport sectors led shares lower.The Nikkei 225 declined 0.93% to hit a new 1-month low.

Australia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Telecoms Services and Energy sectors led shares higher.The S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.42%.
