Benchmark indices traded bullish on the last trading session of the calendar year 2016. Nifty gained around 300 points in the last 4 sessions but failed to end the year above 8,200 in 2016. The euphoria continued in the last trading day of the year, hoping for radical remarks in PM speech tomorrow. Nifty ended the session to close at 8187.
The FMCG and Pharma Stocks were the major gainers of the day while Metals stocks were the losers for the day.
