In a volatile session of trade, domestic bourses settled with small losses. In early trade, local stocks nudged higher in early trade on positive Asian stocks. Though the sensex trimmed gains soon after scaling a record high while nifty sank in negative terrain. Sooner, Indices hovered in narrow range with positive bias but in late trade, indices sank in negative zone. The nifty closed flat to red note at 11018.90. IT sector were the major gainers and PSU Banks were the major losers of the day.

European shares opened higher on Friday, and looked set for a second week of gains as fears of a full-blown trade war were kept in check and optimism about the next corporate earnings season grew. Exxon Mobil Corp quit the American Legislative Exchange Council, a lobbying group bankrolled by fossil fuel companies, following a disagreement over climate-change policy.

Global Markets

Japan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Communication, Gas & Water and Food sectors led shares higher. At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 1.85%.
Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Property, Holding Firms and Industrials sectors led shares higher. At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.66%.
Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Machinery, Other Electronic and Auto sectors led shares higher. At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 1.17%
