Benchmark indices traded volatile on the expiry trade session of September F&O series and ended higher for the first time in last seven trading sessions. The gains were however capped due to geopolitical tension between North Korea and America and worries of widening fiscal deficit on increased government spending to boost a slowing economy. Nifty ended the session to close at 9767.70. Realty stocks were the major gainers of the day while Media and IT stocks were the major losers of the day.
