Benchmark indices traded volatile on the very first trading session of Nov F&O series and ended higher as the buying interest seen in Tata Group companies after the talks of negotiation came into picture between Tata Sons and Cyrus Mistry. However, trading was subdued ahead of a holiday next week. The Nifty ended the session to close at 8638 i.e. 22.75 points higher. TECHM, Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors DVR were the top gainers of the day while, ICICI Bank, Eicher Motors and Infratel, were the top losers of the day.
Global Markets Update:
1). European Stocks were weak in initial trades on Friday on some disappointing earnings from some major corporate but saw mild recovery in later trades from their bottom levels. Overall weakness is on charts ahead of US GDP data due later today.
2). Anheuser-Busch Inc declared weakest quarterly earnings as margins collapsed on recession faced in Brazil. Volumes tanked for the fourth straight quarter by 4.1 percent from 6.4.
GLOBAL MARKET UPDATES:
1). Australia stocks declined on Friday, as losses in the A-REITs, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower. Japan’s Nikkei 225 inched to its 6 months high by adding 0.63 percent on Friday, as gains in the Finance & Investment,
2). Textile and Marine Transport sectors led shares higher.
3). Taiwan stocks booked marginal gains on Friday, as gains were seen in the Rubber, Plastic and Cement sectors led stocks.
4). Philippines stocks slipped 0.54 on Friday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Property and Mining & Oil sectors led shares lowers.
