Domestic bourses logged modest gains in a steady session of trade on account of positive global stocks. Key indices resumed uptrend after taking a one-day pause, on positive Asian stocks. Indices hovered in a small range throughout the day. The nifty settled at 10578.10. Metal sector were the major gainers and financial services were the major losers.

On Thursday European bourses declined, showing signs of fatigue after a two-day rally took them to six-week highs. But Industrial and Commodities-focused stocks gains as earnings and basic resources spurred them higher. Finnish Steel firm Outokumpu (HE:OUTV) advanced 4.3%, reflecting a rise in Japanese steelmakers overnight after a summit between Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and U.S. President Donald Trump.
