Weakness persisted on the bourses in mid-afternoon trade as index pivotal remained gripped in selling pressure. Domestic stocks drifted lower in early trade and continue to trade in negative zone as the session progressed. Sentiment was weak due to political uncertainty in Karnataka, Crude oil prices hovering near the $80 per barrel mark and sustained selling from foreign funds dented sentiment. FMCG sector were the major gainers and Pharma and Metal sectors were the major losers of the day.
